Hi and welcome to My Backpacker Life, I’m happy you’ve found it!

My name is Amanda and I’m a Swede with a big love for travelling, especially backpacking.

My first backpacking trip was in 2016 when I visited Iceland, Canada, USA, Australia and New Zealand. This was a pretty expensive trip and I quickly realised that I wanted to travel more – but couldn’t afford it. At least I couldnt afford travelling in that same way, even though I was backpacking which is considered rather economic.

My second backpacking trip was in 2017. This time I stayed in Europe and visited Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Luxembourg, Switzerland, France, Belgium and The Netherlands. This time I made it more affordable and I understood what it is I love with travelling – I don’t need alcohol, parties, expensive tours and restaurant food. I just want to explore the nature, culture and local life. I was volunteering at a farm in Switzerland when I realised this, and since then I’ve seen backpacking in a new light.

In 2018 I decided to quit my job and start travelling full time with my boyfriend Fredrik, starting with Canada. This time I’m focusing on having a small budget, but a great experience.

Follow me on my adventures and get inspired to go backpacking yourself – it’s the best thing I’ve ever done!
