When I discovered how to travel for free or really cheap, it truly changed my whole perspective and way of travelling. If I tell people I’m a full-time traveller, there’s always someone asking if I’ve won the lottery. For me, travelling has never been about spending money, but about learning and gaining experiences abroad – for the lowest cost possible!

I went backpacking for the first time in 2016 and completely loved it. I took some breaks from it every now and then to go home and save more money before I took the life-changing decision to actually quit my job and be a full-time backpacker. That was eight months ago, and I haven’t regretted it once.

How to travel for free

For the last couple of months, I’ve mixed working to wait out the freezing winter in Calgary with writing on my very first free e-book. How do I make the minimal money I get from having a minimum (and temporary) wage here in Canada, to be enough for months of travelling? The answer is in the book, together with all of my best tips on how to travel for free or really cheap!

How to travel for free
Travelling for free is an amazing experience, since it usually requires something out of the ordinary. An offer to use the kayak for free made me go on my very first paddle trip last year!

Spring is finally on its way and my book is ready to be published, so I figured this is the perfect time to share it with you – I’ll most likely start travelling soon again after my “let’s settle down, it’s winter”-period and these are the tips I will use myself! Here’s a sneak peek of what I’m sharing with you in my free e-book:

Airbnb

I’m sure most of you have heard of Airbnb. However, did you know there’s more than one way to get the prices down? I’ve saved so much money on these tricks, and I’m pretty sure you could too!

Renting a car

Even though I love public transport, it will not take you to all the places you want to see, at least not here in Alberta. Renting a car can be super expensive, but there are actually some things you could do to get the cost down – a lot!

House sitting
Would you also take care of a cutie like this one if you got free accommodation?

Staying for free

I have three options I know work on how to get free accommodation, options that I use myself regularly. What about taking care of a cute dog while staying for free in a luxurious house next to downtown, just to mention one of them?

My e-book How to travel for free (or really cheap!) is filled with 15 great tips on how to get your costs down when travelling. Check it out, you have nothing to lose – it’s completely free!
